You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A father is three times as old as his son,
f = 3s
:
in 12 years, he will be twice as old as his son.
f + 12 = 2(s+12)
f + 12 = 2s + 24
f = 2s + 24 - 12
f = 2s + 12
Replace f with 3s, (from the first statement)
3s = 2s + 12
3s - 2s = 12
s = 12 yrs is the son now
:
How old are the father and the son now?
