You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A man walking on beach recognized his long lost friend 50 meters away
they started running towards each other at the same time.
If the man's rate is 1.5 meters per second while that of his friend is 1 meter per second how far did each other run when thy meet?
:
Let t = time in seconds for them to meet
:
Write a dist equation; dist = speed * time
When they meet they will have traveled a total of 50 m
1.5t + 1t = 50
2.5t = 50
t = 50/2.5
t = 20 seconds
then
1.5 * 20 = 30 meters traveled by the first man
and
1 * 20 = 20 meters traveled by the friend
