Question 823265: Members of a senior class held a car wash to raise funds for their senior prom. They charged $3 to wash a car and $5 to wash a pickup truck. IF they earned a total of $275 by washing a total of 75 vehicles, how many CARS did they wash?
I am fairly sure that I must set up some sort of equation where it equals 75 or $275? I am at a loss when it comes to setting up an equation from words...
Thanks in advance

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
---
x + y = 75
3x + 5y = 275
---
copy and paste the above standard form linear equations in to this solver:
