we are given that the perimeter (P) of the rectangle is 200 cm. We know that
P = 2*length (L) + 2 (W), let x be W, then
200 = 2*(x+3) + 2*x
200 = 2x +6 +2x
4x = 194
x = 48 1/2 cm
width is 48 1/2 cm and length is 51 1/2 cm

200 = 2 * (48 1/2 +3) + 2 * 48 1/2
200 = 103 + 97
200 = 200
