You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I have to create a slope graph using this problem:
-10x+7y=-70
Stating points of -10, 2
I am having trouble finding the correct intersects.
Solve for y.
-10x+7y=-70
add 10x to each side.
7y = 10x -70
divide each side by 7
y = (10/7)x -10
We now know he slope is (10/7)
Use y = Mx + b as a template and substitute (-10,2) for (x,y)
2 = (10/7)(-10) + b
2 = (-100/7) + b
add (100/7) to each side
100/7 + 2 = b
100/7 + 14/7 = b
114/7 = b
So the equation y = (10/7)x + 114/7 goes through the point -10,2
To verify substitute
2 =? (10/7)(-10) + 114/7
2 =? -100/7 + 114/7
2 =? 14/7
2 = 2
