The larger of two numbers is 2 less than twice the smaller highlight_green%28x%29  

Their sum is 60.  

   (2x-2) + x = 60

     3x = 62

      x =  62/3  = 20 2⁄3  

Numbers are:  20 2⁄3  and 39 1⁄3
