You can put this solution on YOUR website!

You would get the y term on one side of your equation, then divide as necessary to get only y, like for example this:
if you are given
+2x+%2B+4y+=+17
Subtract 2x from both sides, to get:
4y+=+-2x+%2B+17
Divide both sides by 4 to get:
y+=+%28-1%2F2%29x+%2B+17%2F4
Your equation is now in y=mx+%2B+b form, where m+=+-1%2F2 and b+=+17%2F4.
