Hi,

-2x - 9y = -25

-4x - 9y = -23 



-2x - 9y = -25    

-(-4x - 9y = -23)   |subtracting the 2nd EQ from the 1st to eliminate y

-2x - 9y = -25    

4x + 9y =23)

   2x  = -2

     x = -1    and y = 3  +4+-+9y+=+-23,  9y = 27 , y = 3
