Question 821561: Find the coordinates of two points on the line with the given equation. Then use the points to find the slope AND Y-Intercept.
y = -3x + 11
Please show work and be detailed, I am very confused. Thanks in advance!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! Find the coordinates of two points on the line with the given equation. Then use the points to find the slope AND Y-Intercept.
y = -3x + 11
Please show work and be detailed,
-----
Points:
If x = 0, y = 11
if x = 1, y = 8
----------
Points:: (0,11) and (1,8)
--------
slope = (11-8)/(0-1) = 3/-1 = -3
--------
Intercept :: ??
Form y = mx + b
Substitute for y,x,m and solve for "b":
11 = -3*0 + b
b = 11
That is the y-intercept.
--------
