You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8x + 7y = 37
2y = 4x - 2
------
Modify for elimination:
8x + 7y = 37
8x - 4y = 4
------
Subtract and solve for "y":
11y = 33
y = 3
----
Solve for "x":
8x + 7y = 37
8x + 7*3 = 37
8x = 16
x = 2

Hi,
2y = 4x - 2 0r y = 2x-1
8x + 7y = 37
8x + 7(2x-1) = 37 | Substituting for y
8x + 14x -7 = 37
22x = 44
x = 2 and y = 3 y+=+2x-1
CHECKING our answer***
Using 8x + 7y = 37
16 + 21 = 37
