Hi,

 2y = 4x - 2   0r  y = 2x-1

8x + 7y = 37 

8x + 7(2x-1) = 37    | Substituting for y

8x + 14x -7 = 37

    22x = 44

      x = 2  and y = 3   y+=+2x-1
