You can put this solution on YOUR website! How many liters of water must evaporate from 50 liters of an 8% salt solution to make a 25% salt solution?
:
Think of it this way.
The original amt of salt in the water is .08*50 = 4 units
The result will still have 4 units of salt, only the amt of water will reduced
:
Let x = amt of water that evaporates
.25(50-x) = 4
12.5 - .25x = 4
12.5 - 4 = .25x
8.5 = .25x
x = 8.5/.25
x = 34 liters of water evaporated
:
:
Confirm this, find the amt of salt in the remaining water 50-34 = 16
.25(16) = 4
