Solve logarithmic equation. Express all solutions in exact form. Support your solutions by using a calculator.
Log sub 5(x + 2) + log sub 5(x – 2) = 1

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Log sub 5(x + 2) + log sub 5(x – 2) = 1
Log sub 5(x + 2)(x – 2) = 1
(x + 2)(x – 2) = 5^1
(x + 2)(x – 2) = 5
x^2-4 = 5
x^2 = 9
x = {-3, 3}
but the -3 is an extraneous solution, throw it out leaving:
x = 3
