Question 818462: S(x)=-4x^2-1 and w(x)=3x+1, find (sw)(2)
(sw)(2)=
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! S(x)=-4x^2-1 and w(x)=3x+1, find (sw)(2)
-------
Comment: I think you probably want the composite, SoW(x).
--------
SoW(x) = S[W(x)] = S[3x+1] = -4(3x+1)^2-1 = -4[9x^2+6x+1]-1
-----
= -36x^2 -24x -5
==========================
(SoW)(2)= S[W(2)] = S[7] = -4(49)-1 = -197
==========================
