The length of the garden is 1 meter more then 3 times its width 'x'

width 'x', length (3x+1)

    3x^2 + x - 200 = 0

x+=+%28-1+%2B-+49%29%2F%286%29+

    x = 8m   (tossing out negative solution for unit measure)
