Convert 43/6 to a mixed number.
Use ordinary division:
divide 6 into 43; 6 goes into 43, 7 times with a remainder of 1:
A whole number of 7 and the remainder of 1 gives a fraction of 1/6.
The mixed number: 7 & 1/6

Assuming you want to evalutate: b^2 - 2bc + c^2 when b=3 and c=-2
You do multiply the three numbers, substitute 3 for b and -2 for c:
(3^2) - (2*3*-2) + (-2^2)
(9) - (-12) + (+4)
9 + 12 + 4 = 25; remember; a minus, a minus, is a plus
