You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2.25/4=0.5625
Ed has worked 2.25 hours before Taylor gets there. Ed has done .5625 of the job already which leaves only 0.4375 of the job to do.
1-0.5625=0.4375
x/5.5+x/4=.4375
x = 1.01316
They work another 1.01316 hours to finish the job
2.25+1.01316=3.26316 hours to do the job
or
2.25/4+x/5.5+x/4=1
x = 1.01316
