Let x represent the price of a goat and 2x the price of a sheep

Solve for x, determine 2x and then find the total price of 3 goats and 2sheep

sheep price =y
(12x+12y)/24 is the average price
(12x+12y)/24=600
12x+12y=24*600
/12
x+y=1200.......................(1)
y= 2x...........................(2)
substitute y=2x in )1)
x+2x=1200
3x=1200
x=400
y=2x
so y=800
