4x-5+%3C+%281%2F3%29%288x%2B3%29   |Multiplying thru by 3 so as all denominators = 1

3(4x-5) < 8x + 3

 12x - 15 < 8x + 3

  4x < 18

   x < 18/4

   x < 9/2
