Question 813639: I have 4-5(10-9v) for homework but I don't under stand it.Does it means I subtract 5 from 4 to get -1 and multiply that to the numbers in the parentheses, or do I multiply the 4-5 with the 10 to get 40-50, and then do that do 9v to get 36v-45v, to have a result of 40-50 - 36v-45v,which would equal -10+9v?Or do is it just -5(10-9v) & then when I find the answer I subtract it from 4?I'm so confused.

Hi,
4 -5(10-9v) |Treat the Parenthesis First
4 - 50 + 45v
-46 + 5v
0r 5v - 46
