You can put this solution on YOUR website! QUESTION:
5m+8=3(m+4)
ANSWER:
5m + 8 = 3( m + 4 )
First remove the parenthesis by multiplying with the term outside the parenthesis.
==> 5m + 8 = 3 * m + 3 * 4
==> 5m + 8 = 3m + 12
Subtract 3m from both sides...
==> 5m + 8 - 3m = 3m + 12 - 3m
==> 5m - 3m + 8 = 3m - 3m + 12
==> 2m + 8 = 12
Subtract 8 from both sides....
==> 2m + 8 - 8 = 12 - 8
==> 2m = 4
Now divide both sides by 2
==> 2m/2 = 4/2
==> m = 2
So the solution of the given equation is,
m= 2
Hope you found the explanation useful.
