Time freight train - time passenger train = 1.5
let distance =x
time freight train = x/40
time passenger train = x/60
x/40-x/60 =1.5
multiply by the LCD 120
3x-2x=1.5*120
x=180 miles distance
time taken = 180/60 = 3hours passenger train
180/40 =4.5 hours - freight train
