X/2=6000 IS THE WINNERS PRIZE THUS:
6000+6000*1/4=TOTAL
6000+1500=TOTAL
7500=TOTAL

1st place received (1/2)x = 6000 so total amount = 12000
But you said 2nd place received (1/4)(6000)=1500
