1- You have to use trial and error on this problem. I'll start with 25 nickels and 25 dimes and continue from there until I get to $3.50.
2- TRY: 25 nickels= 1.25 25 dimes= 2.50 total= $3.75 NOPE, this isn't it!!!!!!!!!!
3- Try: 26 nickels= 1.30 24 dimes= 2.40 total= $3.70 NOPE!!!
4- This time, I'll take away more than 1 coin from each. Try: 30 nickels= 1.50 20 dimes= 2.00 total= $3.00 YEP!!!!
5- She has 30 nickels and 20 dimes.
