Question 810685: The problem is to evaluate the following without using a calculator:
log9(3)-log9(4)+log9(12)
So far I have used the laws of logarithms and gotten to the following point:
log9(3/4x12)=y
log9(3/48)=y
log9(1/16)=y
9^y=(1/16)
Am I correct so far and how do I finish the problem?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You solved log9(3) - (log9(4) + log9(12)).

The problem is log9(3)-log9(4)+log9(12) so it becomes log9(3*12/4) = log9(9) = 1

The log9(12) is added, so multiply 3*12, then divide by 4.
