Question 80985: Please help!! I have tried working this problem out but don't know if I did it right. This is a homework assignment that is due Tuesday. Please bare with me because I am not certain how to type this one. Problem: Multiply (Show all work): (sqrt6 + 3*sqrt2)(4*sqrt6 - 5*sqrt2)
Here is what I did:
(sqrt6 + 3*sqrt2)(4*sqrt6 - 5*sqrt2)
= (sqrt6*4*sqrt6) - (5*sqrt2*sqrt6) + (3*sqrt2*4*sqrt6)- (5*sqrt2*3*sqrt2)
= (4*sqrt6*sqrt6) - (5*sqrt2*sqrt6) + (12*sqrt2*sqrt6) - (15*sqrt2*sqrt2)
=(4*sqrt36) - (5*sqrt12) + (12*sqrt12) - (15*sqrt4)
= (4*6) - (7*sqrt12) - (15*2)
= 24 - (7*sqrt12) - 30
= -6 - (7*sqrt12)
Any help would be appreciated very much! Thanks!!! Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (sqrt6 + 3*sqrt2)(4*sqrt6 - 5*sqrt2)
---------------------
= 4*6 -5sqrt12 + 12sqrt12 - 15*2
= -6 + 7sqrt12
= -6 +14sqrt3
