The amount of time it takes to paint a house is inversely proportional to the number of painters. If 3 painters can paint a house in 6 hours, how long would it take 12 painters to paint the same house?

Time(T) is inversely proportional to the number of painters (P)
T = k/P
k is the constant of proportionality.
To find k, use information given.
If 3 painters can paint a house in 6 hours.
6 = k/3
k = 18
Formula:
T = 18/P
Using 12 painters:
T = 18/12
T = 1.5 hours.
