You can put this solution on YOUR website!

time taken by both is same
combined speed = 135 mph
time they meet = 1080/135=8 hours
speed of B = 70 mph
time to meet = 8
he travels 70*8 = 560 miles

Two persons travel on an East-West highway to two cities in the opposite directions. The distance between the two cities is 1080 miles. Person A going West travels at 65mph. Person B going East travels at 70mph. At which point (mile) does B meet A?
------
A going West DATA:
rate = 65 mph ; time = t hrs ; distance = 65t miles
------
B going East DATA:
rate = 70 mph ; time = t hrs ; distance = 70t miles
----------
Equation:
dist + dist = 1080 miles
65t + 70t = 1080
135t = 1080
t = 8 hrs
---------
B meets A 70t = 70*8 = 560 miles East of B.
