Question 807120: Amy had a nickel, a dime, a quarter, a half dollar, and a silver dollar. After she lost one coin, she had exactly seven times as much money as her brother had. Which coin did she lose? I'm thinking 5-a=7b?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If she started with a nickel, a dime, a quarter, a half-dollar, and a dollar, she started with $1.90, which is to say 190 cents.
If she takes away one of the coins she either has 185, 180, 165, 140, or 90 cents remaining. Only one of those numbers is evenly divisible by 7.
