You can put this solution on YOUR website!
This can be solved as a proportion:
%28143.4%2Fx%29=%286%2F72%29
Next cross-multiply:
%28143.4%2A72%29=%286%2Ax%29
This simplifies to 10324.8=6x
Now divide both sides by 6 to get:
1720.8=x
This car can travel 1720.8 miles on 72 gallons of gasoline.
Also, you could have reduced the 6%2F72 to 1%2F12 and solve it normally if you would have liked to.
Hope this Helps!
