You can put this solution on YOUR website!

is there a way to find the height of an object using its shadow

Yes. Suppose you want to know the height of a flagpole.

1. Measure the flagpole's shadow.

2. Get a straight stick.

3. Measure the stick

3. Hold the stick upright.

4. Measure the stick's shadows.

5. Make the equation:

LENGTH OF STICK HEIGHT OF FLAGPOLE
    -------------------------- = ------------------------------
LENGTH OF STICK'S SHADOW LENGTH OF FLAGPOLE'S SHADOW

7. Substitute the unknown x for the HEIGHT OF FLAGPOLE.

8. Substitute the three measurements from steps 1, 3, and 4.

9. Solve the resulting equation for x.
