Question 802881: log 9 = log x^2
square root 9 = square root x^2
x = 3, x = -3
Question: x = 3 is an answer but on x = -3 is the -3 squared to = 9 or is just the 3 squared and the negative is put put in front so the answer would be -9 and therefore I cannot put x = -3 as an answer. Are 3 and -3 the answer or just 3?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Squares are always positive because
(+)*(+) = +
(-)*(-) = +
So, both +x+=+3+ and +x+=+-3+
are valid answers
