Give the values of x which must be excluded from the domain of the following function.
f(x)= (x+1)/(x^2-4x-12)
Factor to get:
f(x)/[(x-6)(x+2)]

X-values are excluded if they make the denominator zero or if they
make a radicand negative for radicals with even index.

Your Problem:
You have no radicals, so forget that.
You have a denominator so x cannot be 6 and it cannot be -2.
------------
Therefore the domain is All Real Numbers except x=-2 and x=6.
