You can put this solution on YOUR website!
log+4x=+log+5%2Blog%28%28x%2B1%29%29
First, get the x terms alone on one side of the equation:
log4x-log%28%28x%2B1%29%29=log5
You can use a log property to rewrite the left hand side:
log%28%284x%2F%28%28x%2B1%29%29%29%29=log5
Now you can raise 10 to each side of the equation, effectively cancelling out the logs:
4x%2F%28x%2B1%29=5
solve for x:
4x=5x%2B5
highlight%28x=-5%29
Good Luck,
