Question 802012: If the sum of twice a number and -12 is multiplied by 2, the result is 11 greater than the opposite of the number. Find the number.
(2N-12)2
4N - 24
4N = 24
4N/4 = 24/4
N = 6
-6+ 11 = 5

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If the sum of twice a number and -12 is multiplied by 2, the result is 11 greater than the opposite of the number.
:
I think the equation should be (-n is the opposite of n)
2(2n-12) = -n + 11
4n - 24 = -n + 11
4n + n = 11 + 24
5n = 35
n = 35/5
n = 7
:
:
See if that checks out
2(2(7)-12) = -7 + 11
2(2) = 4
