Replace F with 60 - S
60 - S + 14 = 3(S + 14)
60 - S + 14 = 3S + 42
Collect like terms:
- S - 3S = 42 - 14 - 60
-4S = - 32
S = 8
Son's age is 8 years old.
Father's age is 52 years old.
