Question 801033: frank has a bucket that can hold 1.2 cubic ft of compost. He wants to use it to move 1.8 cubic yds of compost from his driveway to his garden. how many trips is he going to need to make? solve using fractions.
I would take 1.2/1*3ft/1yd*3ft/1yd*3ft/1yd is that correct?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
i cubic yard = 27 cubic feet
we are told to solve this using fractions
18/10 * 27 = 48 and 6/10 cubic feet need to be moved = 486/10
frank's bucket holds 1.2 cubic feet or 12/10
number of trips = (486/10) / (12/10) = 486/10 * 10/12 = 486/12 = 40 1/2 trips = 41 trips
