5x%2F6-x%2F2=3
Like any other fraction addition, you need to find an LCD so you can add the fraction. The LCD of 2 fractions with denominators 2 and 6 is 6. So I can rewrite this as:
5x%2F6-3x%2F6=3
Now that these 2 fractions have the same denominator, you can subtract them:
2x%2F6=3
Solve for x:
2x=18
