You can put this solution on YOUR website! In some classes, the average is not figured as a strict mathematical calculation. If it is a strict mathematical calculation, there may be details/rules that make the calculation more complicated. It could be that not all the marks get the same weighting.
If all the marks are given the same value, you can just average them as fractions, as decimals, or as percentages. The result will be in the same form
For example, , and
The average can be calculated either way.
In percentages:
÷ = = (rounding to a whole number)
That would mean your average grade is 60.
However, if the marks are not all given the same weight, calculating the average is more complicated. For example, in an online class that I am taking, class participation (for the total 35 days of class) is worth 10% of the grade, weekly homework assignments (the whole 10 of them) are worth 15% of the grade, 3 midterm exams are worth 15% each, and the final is worth 30% of the grade. Calculating the grade at the end of the course will be complicated.
If I get 100% 90% and 80% in the three midterms, 87% in the final, 92% for the average of all the homework assignments, and 85% for class participation, my grade will be

With some luck, that would be rounded to 89, and be a B grade.
Figuring out my standing right now, in the middle of the course is even harder. All I can do for now is figuring out how many points are irretrievably lost, which tells me the maximum I could attain with 100% for everything I do from now on.
