Question 800409: a portion of a walkway in a park has a length of 115 yards. A landscaper plants a tree at the beginning of the walkway, then plants another tree every 5 3/4 yards. How many trees will the landscaper plant along the walkway? Be sure to include the tree planted at the beginning of the walkway.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Add in the tree at the beginning later
For the first 4 trees that the landscaper plants,
There are 4 equal spaces, and the length of
the 4 spaces is +4%2A%28+5+%2B+3%2F4+%29+=+20+%2B+3+,
or 23 yards for 4 trees.
If I keep planting in groups of 4, there are
+115%2F23+=+5+ groups of 4, which makes
20 trees. Adding the tree at the beginning,
there are 21 trees planted along the walkway
