Q 2. Tank X measures 10 cm by 8 cm by 6 cm. it is completely filled with water. the water is then poured into cubical tank of 8 cm side. find the height of water in cubical tank Answer by mohanraj04(12) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! 8 equal squares are placed side by side to make a single rectangle whose perimeter is 180 cm. what is the area of each square?
ans:
let x be the side of the square,
perimeter of rectangle = 180 cms
180=x+(8*x)+x+(8*x)
180=(2*x)+2(8*x)
180=2x+16x
180=18x
10=x
therefore the side of the square is 10cms
area of square=x^2
=10^2
=100cm^2
Q 2. Tank X measures 10 cm by 8 cm by 6 cm. it is completely filled with water. the water is then poured into cubical tank of 8 cm side. find the height of water in cubical tank
Ans:
let the area of the tank X be A
A=10*8*6
A=480 cm^3
let the height of the water be H
480=8*8*H
480=64*H
H=480/64
H=7.5cm
therefore the height of the water in the cubical tank is 7.5 cm
