5 peso coin = x
10 peso coin = y
x + y = 56 ......1
5x + 10y = 440......2
Multiply Eq (1) by 10
x + y = 56......1
10x + 10y = 560......3
5x + 10y = 440.......2
Subtract Eq (2) from Eq (3)
5x = 120
x = 24
Substitute x = 4 into
Eq (1)
x + y = 56........1
24 + y = 56
y = 56 - 24
y = 32.
You have 24 x 5 peso coins
32 x 10 peso coins.
