You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Let x=number of regular orders sold;
$5.99x=receipts from regular orders
Then 134-x=number of jumbo orders sold;
$8.99(134-x)=receipts from jumbo orders
Now we are told that :
5.99x+8.99(134-x)=1024.66 get rid of parens ($ are understood)
5.99x+104.66-8.99x=1024.66 subtract 1204.66 from each side
5.99x+1204.66-1204.66-8.99x=1024.66-1204.66 collect like terms
-3x=-180 divide both sides by -3
x=60---------------------------------number of regular orders sold
134-x=134-60=74--------------------------number of jumbo orders sold

CK
60*5.99+74*8.99=1024.66
359.40+665.26=1024.66
1024.66=1024.66

Hope this helps----ptaylor
