You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Speed of plane = x
Aeroplane's speed flying against wind = (x - 8)
Aeroplane's speed flying with wind = (x + 8)
6(x - 8) = 5.7(x + 8)
6x - 48 = 5.7x + 45.6
Collect like terms:
6x - 5.7x = 45.6 + 48
0.3x = 93.6
x = 312
Aeroplane's speed = 312 mph.
Hope this helps.
