You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x - 3y = -2
x - 3y + 3y = 3y - 2
x = 3y - 2
substitute for x in the first equation
3(3y -2) + 4y = -6
9y - 6 + 4y = -6
15y -6 + 6 = -6 + 6
15y = 0
15y/15 = 0/15
y = 0
solve for x
3x + 4(0) = -6
3x = -6
3x/3 = -6/3
x = -2
check:
3(-2) + 4(0) = -6
-6 = -6
-2 - 3(-) = -2
-2 = -2
