Add to both sides.

Then swap sides because the subject of the sentence is traditionally in the LHS.

P-2L=2W Subtract 2L from both sides.

2W+=+P-2L Flip the equation

W+=+%28P-2L%29%2F2 Divide both sides by 2 to isolate W.

And you're done since W is all by itself now.
