Put the equation in vertex form:
-1/2 x^2 +4x = y-6
(-1/2)(x^2- 8x + 4^2) = y-6-(1/2)*16
(-1/2)(x-4)^2= y-14
Vertex at x=4,y=14
Axis of symmetry is x=4
