Question 791339: distribute and Combine Like Terms:
(x^2-3x+7)-(x^2-6x-2)
Answer by wilft1(217) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! (x^2-3x+7) - (x^2-6x-2)
since you have a minus sign in front of the second set of parenthesis, that is going to make all the numbers opposites (example... 5 becomes -5, -6x becomes 6x, etc)
so...
x^2 - 3x + 7 - x^2 + 6x + 2
now just combine like terms... and just for s#!ts and giggles, lets do them in decending order...
x^2 - x^2 cancells each other out...
your answer is...
3x + 9
