Factor each polynomical(sic) completely: Cute...but it's really "polynomial".
1)
3x%5E2-18x%2B27+=+%283x-9%29%28x-3%29
2)
x%5E3%2B3x%5E2-4x-12+=+%28x%5E2-4%29%28x%2B3%29 but notice that the %28x%5E2-4%29 is the difference of two squares and this can be factored too:
x%5E2-4+=+%28x%2B2%29%28x-2%29 so, putting it all together, you get:
x%5E3%2B3x%5E2-4x-12+=+%28x%2B2%29%28x-2%29%28x%2B3%29
