The interest earned by the two accounts are equal, so
+.08x+=+.1%2A%28+54000+-+x+%29+
+.08x+=+5400+-+.1x+
+.18x+=+5400+
+x+=+30000+
+54000+-+x+=+24000+
$30,000 should be invested at 8%
$24,000 should be invested at 10%
