You can put this solution on YOUR website! How do I solve f(x)= -3x+4 to find the slope and y intercept ? The function is in slope intercept form:
, the slope is the coefficient of x, m. The y-intercept is the constant, b. The slope of your function is, m=-3
The y-intercept is, b=4. Some teachers prefer (0,b)=(0,4).
 Happy Calculating!!!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website! True fact about lines:
 If you see f(x) = woodchuck x + giraffe
then can know it is a line, and the slope of the graph of the function f
is woodcheck, and the y-intercept is giraffe
your woodhcuck is -3 and your giraffe is 4
 You have f(x) = -3 x + 4
 the slope is -3
 the y-intercept is 4
 The y-intercept the point (0, f(0)).
 f(0) is -3 * 0 + 4 which is 4
Your y-intercept is (0,4). This is a point on the y-axis four units above the x-axis.
The slope is the change in y if x changes by 1
The slope of a line is the change in y when x changes by 1
 f(0) = woodchuck * 0 + giraffe and your giraffe is 4
 f(1) = woodchuck * 1 + giraffe and your woodchuck + giraffe is -3+4 = 1
You see the change is woodchuck which is -3
This is known as mx+b standard form where the slope is called m instead of woodchuck and the y-intercept is known as b instead of giraffe.
It might help you to know a slope 0 goes horizontally across the page, slope 1 goes diagonally like this / and slope -1 goes diagonally like this \ and also vertical lines do not have a slope. Slope 8 is a steeper slope upwards and to the right, and slope -8 is a steeper slope downwards, and small slopes like +1/4 or -1/4 rise or sink gradually as you move to the right (positive x axis).
